Lubera AG - innovative nursery in Buchs (Switzerland)

In 2023, the new nursery of Lubera AG was realized in Buchs, Switzerland: a modern production facility for ornamental trees and shrubs for terrace and garden. The project covers 1.7 hectares and includes a Venlo production greenhouse of five departments, plus a hall/office space.

Sustainable greenhouse solution with diffused glass and solar panels

In this project, we were responsible for the complete coordination and execution of the new building as the general superintendent. All activities – from the innovative greenhouse construction to the finishing of the premises – were organized by us and coordinated with all parties involved.

A special feature of this project is the innovative greenhouse deck. Solar panels have been installed on two lanes – about 20% of the greenhouse deck. These panels block about 20 to 25% of the light. However, this loss is partly compensated for by the fact that the rest of the greenhouse deck consists of diffuse glass, which lets through about 15% more light than standard glass. In this way, a sustainable and efficient balance has been found between energy generation and optimum light for the plants.
